A picnic is a great way to get outside during the summer and explore the beautiful parks that surround us. They are also a great way to gather with friends and family. While in Big Sky, Montana, one should take in as many views as possible.
When planning your picnic, make sure that you choose a place where all involved can get to. It should be somewhere that everyone will enjoy. Another tip is to pack food that will be easy to travel with. If you are planning on hiking up, try to pack something small like sandwiches. They can be packed easily and if needed can be kept cold.

This park has many picnic tables, access to trailheads, and lots of open space to explore. This area is great for families with kids. There is a lot of space to run around and various activities.
After walking 0.3 miles from the Lone Peak Trailhead, you will come upon Kircher Discovery Park. Here you can enjoy their picnic tables as well as a Tree Fort. This area is great for kids!
0.8 miles from the trailhead is where you can enjoy the views of Ousel Falls Park while enjoying lunch at one of the picnic tables.
This 3 mile round trip trail has picnic tables along the way for you to stop, enjoy the scenery, and enjoy a meal.
