New Year's Eve 2013

Ring in the New Year in a big way in Big Sky this year. New Year’s Eve events are happening all around town in the Mountain, Meadow, and Canyon. If you’re planning on spending New Year’s Eve in Big Sky, here are some of the ways you can welcome in 2014:

Mountain Village:

Start with some après live music at one of three great locations or swing by all:

  1. Lone Mountain Trio will be playing from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. at the Carabiner Lounge located in the Summit Hotel.
  2. Dos Mayos will perform at Chet’s Bar from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m.
  3. Larry Myer will play live at Whiskey Jack’s from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.

Next, head to the Huntley Dining Room for a New Year’s Eve Buffet. A delicious and assorted menu will be served from 5:30 until 9:00 p.m. The price is $43 for adults, $15 for children (ages 5-10), and kids under 4 are free. Please call 406.995.5071 for reservations.

Headwater’s Grille will be holding a Family NYE Party from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. There will be dinner, face painting, music, karaoke, a balloon drop and more family friendly activities. Headwater’s Grille is located at the Madison Base of Big Sky Resort. Price for adult admission:

  • $15 (plus tax) per person and includes party favors, the balloon drop, s’mores and karaoke.
  • $30 (plus tax) per adult will include the buffet, which includes dinner and a foundation drink, in addition to the aforementioned goodies. 
  • $24 (plus tax) is for children with the buffet, including dinner and a fountain drink, party favors, balloon drop, s’mores and karaoke. The event is free for kids age 2 and under.

Other family friendly New Year’s Eve parties include a Kid’s New Year’s Eve Party and Teen’s New Year’s Eve Party. Please make reservations by calling 406-995-5769. Details on each party are as follows:

Kid’s New Year’s Eve Party: New Year's Eve Party with pizza, soda, dessert, rock wall, bungee trampoline, games and more.

  • Where: Missouri Ballroom in the Yellowstone Conference Center
  • When: 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
  • Ages: 4-11
  • Price: $39/child

Teen New Year’s Eve Party:  Join other young adults to ring in 2014 with pizza, fireworks, music and fun.

  • Where: Upper Atrium of Yellowstone Conference Center
  • When:  9:30 to 12:30 p.m.
  • What: Pizza buffet, desert, drinks, music, and fireworks
  • Price: $39/person 

Big Sky Resort also has two great parties for adults to ring in the New Year. Big Sky Resort’s New Year’s Eve Party features live music at Whiskey Jack’s, Cure for the Common. Tickets are $25 in advance and $40 at the door. The party is from 9:30 p.m. until 12:30 a.m. Jack Greek Grille will also be having a New Year’s Eve dinner and celebration at the Moonlight Lodge December 31st. Dinner will be at 6:00 p.m. and live music and dancing will be from 7:30 p.m. until 1:30 a.m.

Fireworks will go off at 8 p.m. and midnight at the plaza/base area resort wide. Don’t miss out on this wonderful celebration!


Meadow Village:

Dance 2013 away at Choppers Pub & Grub tonight in the Big Sky Town Center. Local, DJ Tiny, will be spinning at Choppers beginning at 9:30 p.m. Get there early for some of Chopper’s famous grub. The restaurant will stop serving food at 9:00 p.m., but drinks and music will flow until 2:00 a.m. 



If spending New Year’s on the Gallatin River is more your style, check out two great spots to ring in 2014. Enjoy the warmth of the Lodge and atmosphere with the Montana Rose Duet and some excellent cuisine by Chef Scott Myers at Rainbow Ranch. Rainbow Ranch will be starting of the New Year with a splendid display of fireworks at midnight.

The Gallatin Riverhouse Grill will be having its own New Year’s Eve Party. Celebrate New Year’s Eve at the Gallatin Riverhouse Grill with The Dirty Shame. $10 cover includes champagne toast @ midnight. Skyline Shuttle will be available until 2:12 am.

Finish up your holiday, by heading to The Corral on January 1, 2014 for a special new year’s breakfast buffet. The buffet is $10.95 for adults and $6.95 for children 10 and under. The buffet includes: fresh fruit, assorted pastries, hashbrowns, bacon, ham, link sausages, French toast, blueberry hotcakes, eggs benedict, scrambled eggs, omelettes, and biscuits and gravy.
