Canyon

Whether you're approaching Big Sky from Bozeman or West Yellowstone, you'll have to travel the winding scenery of the Canyon.

The fresh waters of the Gallatin River carve through sheer rock faces and sprawling National Forest as it leaves Yellowstone National Park and makes it way North to Bozeman opening a canyon passage for cars on highway 191. Smack dab in the middle of these two landmarks is Big Sky, Montana. Not only is this path a gateway to Big Sky, it is a gateway to recreation. The Gallatin River offers exceptional year-round blue ribbon trout fishing and summertime white water rafting. The miles of National Forest give way to endless horseback riding adventures, hiking trails, camping opportunities and fall hunting. Restaurants and lodging in this neighborhood are blessed with convenience for exploring the region, stunning views of wildlife and nature, and space to stretch your legs.
