Camp Big Sky
Camp Big Sky was created in order to provide safe, fun, enriching activities for local and visiting children in and around the Big Sky area during the summer. It is truly a community collaboration that provides the best summer opportunities for Big Sky youth.
Programs are constantly expanding to accommodate the growing community. Currently in development are the Junior Leadership and Counselor In Training programs, more middle school age programs, and employment opportunities for high school-age students in order to meet the needs of the growing numbers of older children. Here’s a summary of the programs offered this summer:
- Pioneers: Open to children entering 1st - 3rd grade, the pioneers camp incorporates a variety of themes, from Montana history to environmental stewardship to dinosaurs;
- Explorers: Designed for children entering 4th - 6th grade, this camp helps children hone a variety of skills over the course of the summer, enabling them to try many different things. Topics include (but are not limited to!) filmmaking, golf, backcountry cooking, and outdoor eduction.
- Work Hard Play Hard: Centered around outdoor recreation, this camp is open to children entering 6th - 8th grade. Students participate in a wide range of outdoor activities.
