Bear Safety Training Day
On June 16th Forest Service and Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks staff be hosting a bear safety training day for you and your employees.
We'll have the bear trailer and other educational displays at the Big Sky Community Park (25 Seeway Rd) near the basketball court from 10 am to 3 pm. We'll be there to discuss bear safety and offer 40-minute bear awareness training presentations, with an opportunity to use inert bear spray at the completion of the training. Training topics include bear biology, storing attractants properly, how to prevent bear encounters, how to handle bear encounters, and how to use bear spray.
Presentations will begin at 10:30 am, 12:30pm and 1:30 pm. Outside of training times, our staff will be available for questions. Neighbors and other community members are also welcomed to visit or attend the training.
For the past 5 years we've helped train employees and the public in the Big Sky area. This year, we've had more requests than we can accommodate, so we are making the opportunity available to everyone on June 16th. Thank you to the Big Sky Community Organization for allowing us to use the park for our training day.
If you can't attend, more information about bear awareness and a recorded video of our training can be found here:
