MY BIG SKY SUMMER

Share Your Summer Moments and Win!

We're inviting you to share your favorite Big Sky summer moments for a chance to be featured on the summer cover of our 2026/2027 Visit Big Sky Visitor Guide and win a prize package.  Whether it’s a golden hour photo of Lone Mountain, a candid shot of your family on a trail, or a breathtaking wildlife sighting, we want to see what makes Big Sky special to you.

Did you know we distribute 60,000 Visitor Guides each year? They go all over the local Big Sky and Bozeman area, and we also mail them to all 50 states and over 15 countries! The Visitor Guide has both a summer and a winter cover, and this competition is specifically for the summer edition. Your photo could be the first thing thousands of people see when they start planning their Big Sky adventure!

What You Need to Know

Who Can Enter:

The competition is open to both amateur and professional photographers who are 18 years of age or older.

Submission Period:

Entries will be accepted from Friday, August 15, 2025, at 12:01 AM MDT to Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at 11:59 PM MDT.

How to Enter:

You can submit your photos via our official competition portal above. Each person can submit a maximum of three photos. Please include a title and a brief description (up to 150 words) telling the story behind the photo and what “Big Sky Summer” means to you.

Photo Specifications:

• Photos must be in vertical (portrait) orientation and high-resolution (300 dpi).

• Submitted files must be in JPEG format and should not exceed 10 MB per image.

• Please don’t include any watermarks, signatures, or identifying marks on your photos.

• We're looking for authentic moments, so keep digital editing to a minimum. Minor adjustments for color, contrast, and cropping are fine, but extensive digital manipulation (like adding or removing elements or AI-generated images) is not permitted.

Judging Process:

Our panel of judges will select a group of finalists. Judging criteria will include: adherence to theme, originality, creativity, technical quality, emotional impact, and suitability for the Visitor Guide cover. Then, the public will get to vote for the winner! Public voting will take place online from October 24, 2025, through November 7, 2025.

Visit Big Sky reserves the right to cancel, suspend, or modify the competition, if necessary, due to circumstances beyond our control.  These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Montana, without regard to its conflict of laws principles.  By participating in the contest, you, the Contestant, have affirmatively reviewed, accepted, and agreed to all of the Official Rules.
