Big Sky, Montana

Big Sky is located on Hwy 191; 45 miles south of Bozeman and 45 miles north of West Yellowstone. From Bozeman, you’ll drive through the beautiful Gallatin Canyon. From West Yellowstone, you’ll drive through Yellowstone National Park, a perfect opportunity to spot wildlife such as moose, elk and bears.

The fresh waters of the Gallatin River carve through sheer rock faces as it leaves Yellowstone National Park and makes it way North to Bozeman opening a canyon passage for cars on highway 191. Along its banks you'll find many of our guided outfitters. Highlights include:

if you happen to find yourself in big sky this is a great 1.6 mile hike with a big reward for fairly little effort. if you head out on the trail, pack some snacks (and remember to pack out your trash!) - the trail is very well maintained and sprinkled with picnic tables along the way.
