One&Only Moonlight Basin: Ultra-Luxury Arrives in Big Sky
A new era of luxury debuts this November with the opening of One&Only Moonlight Basin — the brand’s first resort in the United States. Nestled within an 8,000-acre alpine landscape surrounded by protected wilderness, this destination resort will redefine mountain hospitality in the American West.
The property will feature:
-
73 guest rooms and suites, plus 19 guest cabins and 62 private homes
-
Six resort buildings, including three signature restaurants and a dedicated ski lodge
-
The first-ever Chenot Spa in the U.S., blending European wellness science with mountain tranquility
-
A new gondola providing direct access between One&Only Moonlight Basin and Big Sky Resort
Designed for all seasons, One&Only Moonlight Basin pairs the rugged beauty of Montana with the sophistication of modern design — setting a new benchmark for refined adventure.

Kircliff: Big Sky Resort’s All-Glass Scenic Viewing Platform
Perched at 11,166 feet atop Lone Peak, the new Kircliff viewing platform redefines what it means to take in the view. Integrated into the top terminal of the Lone Peak Tram, this architectural marvel invites guests to step into an all-glass enclosure and experience the mountain from an entirely new perspective.
With 360-degree panoramic windows and a glass floor that drops straight down the fall line of Lone Mountain, Kircliff offers a thrilling yet serene vantage point. On clear days, visitors can see across three states — Montana, Idaho, and Wyoming — with Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks visible in the distance.
Whether you reach it by ski or scenic tram ride, Kircliff is a must-see for anyone visiting Big Sky. Experience the unveiling on December 20, 2025.
The Explorer Gondola: A New Way to Experience the Mountain
Debuting for the 2025–26 winter season, the Explorer Gondola marks a bold new chapter in Big Sky Resort’s mountain access and design. This high-speed, 10-person gondola will connect the Mountain Village base area directly to the Lone Peak Tram, offering a seamless top-to-bottom experience.
With enclosed cabins, panoramic windows, and direct access to a new food and après destination at the top terminal, the Explorer Gondola transforms how guests move — and unwind — on the mountain. Whether you’re a skier, sightseer, or après enthusiast, this new lift delivers a comfortable and unforgettable way to explore Big Sky.
Culinary Excellence Arrives: M by The Alinea Group
This winter, Big Sky welcomes one of the most celebrated names in global dining. Grant Achatz and The Alinea Group — known for redefining culinary artistry — will launch M by The Alinea Group, a four-month residency at Big Sky Resort.
As part of the group’s 20th Anniversary World Tour, this seasonal restaurant presents a menu that celebrates both European culinary precision and the raw beauty of Montana’s landscape. Each dish is crafted with intention and inspired by the elements — from snow and stone to smoke and flame — highlighting locally sourced ingredients and creative expression.
This exclusive residency will make Big Sky a destination not only for world-class skiing but for world-class dining.
