ZIPLINING
Ready to take your summer vacation to new heights? Let's get you harnessed up for a zipline adventure in Big Sky, Montana! Whether you're a seasoned thrill-seeker or trying it for the first time, a zipline experience offers a fresh perspective of our stunning mountain scenery. And lucky for us, we have two distinct ziplining adventures that let you discover Big Sky from a bird's-eye view, each with its own story to tell.
When it comes to picking your perfect aerial adventure, you've got two fantastic choices. Head up to Big Sky Resort for an experience that truly has you flying through the trees and above the slopes on Lone Mountain. Picture expansive views of the peaks and valleys below. Or, for a different kind of thrill, check out Montana Whitewater, where you’ll glide high above the rush of the iconic Gallatin River, seeing the canyon and its wild beauty from a whole new angle. No matter which you choose, each offers an unforgettable taste of incredible Montana scenery!

KNOW BEFORE YOU GO:
- Most zipline tours have minimum and maximum weight requirements for safety. Generally, participants need to be at least 45-70 lbs, and typically not exceed 260-275 lbs. If you have younger or lighter adventurers in your group, some tours offer options for tandem zipping with a guide. Minimum ages can range from 6 to 12 years old, depending on the specific course. Children under 14 usually need to be accompanied by an adult. Always double-check with your chosen operator to confirm their exact requirements
-
Fully enclosed, closed-toe shoes are a must for safety. No sandals, flip-flops, or Crocs allowed on the course.
-
Dress comfortably and be ready for movement. Layers are always a good idea in Montana's mountain weather. Think breathable fabrics.
-
If you have long hair, please tie it back securely (a low ponytail or braid works best for helmets!).
-
Secure any loose items, such as sunglasses, phones, or cameras. Consider straps or zippered pockets, as you don't want to lose anything mid-air!
-
Ziplining is an active experience. Participants should generally be in reasonably good physical condition. If you have any pre-existing conditions, like back, shoulder, or knee problems, or if you are pregnant, it's essential to check with your physician and the zipline operator beforehand, as some conditions may prevent participation. You'll likely encounter some stairs, ladders, or short uphill walks as part of the course.
-
Making a reservation in advance is highly recommended, especially during peak summer months, to secure your preferred time. Plan to arrive a bit early for your tour to allow time for check-in, gearing up, and important safety instructions from your guides.
-
Remember, safety is paramount. Always listen carefully to your guides, follow all instructions, and enjoy the incredible views.
