Hike, Explore & Relax: A Perfect Day Trip to Bozeman 


Gear up for a day in Bozeman by packing layers, an extra set of clothes, sunscreen, and plenty of water.  Grab coffee in Big Sky before hitting the road.  Depending on traffic and conditions, Bozeman is an hour’s drive.  



Hit the trail first thing in the morning to avoid heavy crowds and the midday heat. There are several hikes close to Bozeman. We recommend finding a trail that fits your group’s skill and fitness level.

Suggested hikes include Palisade Falls, Grotto Falls, Drinking Horse Mountain Trail, and the popular College “M” trail.  Plan on spending 2-3 hours for your hike, depending on your pace and how long you want to spend enjoying the scenery.  




After your hike, refuel at a delicious lunch spot in historic downtown Bozeman. Many restaurants offer patio or rooftop seating with fantastic views. Explore the charming shops and boutiques along Main Street.

In the afternoon, venture beyond downtown. Families and history buffs can dive into Montana's past at the renowned Museum of the Rockies, featuring dinosaur fossils and cultural exhibits. For relaxation, soak up the sun and unwind at the soothing Bozeman Hot Springs .
